‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation in Gaza exemplies UAE’s commitment to helping all in need

Back in 2023, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed ordered the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence to initiate ‘Gallant Knight 3’ . It is comprehensive humanitarian operation that has been trying to alleviate Palestinian people's sufferings for a year. Under the operation, the UAE has established a field hospital in Gaza. It is still operating despite the ongoing military operation happening in the territory. The facility includes multiple departments and specialised clinics, and has already treated more than 48,700 injured people. The UAE is also operating a floating hospital for Gazans. Besides that, the leadership has also issued orders to evacuate 1,000 injured Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients, and help them receive treatment at different hospitals across the Gulf state. Gallant Knight 3: Prosthetic Limb Centre opens at UAE Field Hospital in Gaza as death toll crosses 29,000

  The UAE has opened a vital health facility at its field hospital in the Gaza Strip, supporting the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation launched under President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s directives. The Prosthetic Limb Centre is designed to provide and manufacture high-quality prosthetics and rehabilitate patients affected by ongoing fighting in the enclave. The centre will operate in several stages, starting from taking measurements for prosthetic limb manufacturing, followed by manufacturing, and physical therapy and rehabilitation. Measurements have already been taken for 36 cases in preparation for their prosthetics. The number of people supported by the centre is expected to exceed 100 in just a few days. Established in December to ease the significant pressure placed on Gaza’s health service by the five-month-long violence, the 150-bed field hospital has already treated more than 3,500 patients.
