Dubai, the largest and most populous city in the UAE, has set an ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 , making it one of the leading cities in the world to pursue a green and sustainable future. This goal is in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative is in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, announced in November 2023 as the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
