UAE boosts humanitarian efforts for Gazans during Ramadan as fighting rages on

  The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council has decided to  intensify relief supplies  for Palestinian people in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. The UAE has launched a series of Ramadan aid initiatives, including the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ operation, which has provided 21,000 tonnes of food, health aid, and shelter materials to the Gaza Strip. The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has led to a death toll in Gaza exceeding 31,500. The UAE has also launched the  ‘Tarahum — for Gaza’  campaign, with over 24,000 volunteers helping to assemble 71,000 relief baskets from locally sourced materials. The UAE-Egyptian partnership has also been instrumental in delivering aid, with Operation ‘Birds of Goodness’ delivering 293 tonnes of aid via Emirati and Egyptian aircraft. Emirates Red Crescent launches Ramadan Continuous Giving Campaign to support needy families

  The UAE has announced the start of Ramadan 2024, with March 11 as the official start date. The  Emirates Red Crescent  launched a massive Dh37.6 million Ramadan campaign to alleviate the sufferings of needy families in the UAE and 44 countries across Asia, Europe, and South America. The campaign aims to support 1.8 million people by offering Eid clothing, Ramadan food parcels, and Iftar meals. The ERC is also set to launch women-only Ramadan and Iftar tents across Dubai, Ajman, and Abu Dhabi. There will be 321 donation collection sites in all emirates, located in malls, prominent markets, and densely populated areas. Citizens and residents can still offer assistance through the Emirates Red Crescent’s donation centres, website, apps, bank deposits, text messages, cash donation boxes, and different in-person donation collection locations.
