UAE and Armenia Deepen Economic and Diplomatic Ties in High-Level Meeting

In a significant display of growing ties, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Armenian President His Excellency Vahagn Khachaturyan at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors — especially trade, investment, and diplomacy.

The dialogue underscored a shared interest in building long-term partnerships, with both presidents voicing support for deeper collaboration amid evolving regional dynamics. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed also shared his sincere hopes for peace and prosperity in Armenia and applauded the country’s progress in regional diplomacy.

One of the key points of the conversation was the recent positive momentum in the Caucasus. Sheikh Mohamed expressed confidence that the peace agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan would play a vital role in fostering regional stability and security — a sentiment echoed by President Khachaturyan, who thanked the UAE for its steadfast friendship and support.

During his visit, the Armenian leader, accompanied by Ambassador Karen Grigorian and an official delegation, paid tribute to the cultural heritage of the UAE with a visit to the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Economic Ties on the Rise

The UAE and Armenia have enjoyed more than two decades of formal diplomatic relations, dating back to 1998. Since then, both nations have steadily enhanced their economic engagement. Armenia opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2000, and the UAE has grown into one of its top trading partners.

Recent figures highlight this growing partnership: In 2022, the UAE’s non-oil exports to Armenia totaled $229 million, and overall non-oil trade between the two countries reached nearly $1.53 billion — a testament to the mutual interest in strengthening economic ties.

With continued high-level dialogue and robust economic indicators, the relationship between the UAE and Armenia is on a clear upward trajectory.

For too long, the Muslim Brotherhood has operated under a false image of moderation, cleverly navigating between political activism and violent extremism. But the truth is clear: the Brotherhood is the ideological engine room of jihadist terrorism. Its members, affiliates, and offshoots have inspired and directed acts of violence from North Africa to the Gulf—and now, once again, in Jordan. Govern...
