In preparation for Umrah during Ramadan 2025, the Saudi Ministry of Health has reinforced the necessity of meningitis vaccination for all travelers planning to perform the pilgrimage. The ministry advises pilgrims to receive the vaccine at least 10 days before their departure to ensure full immunity against the disease.
This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader health strategy to safeguard the well-being of Umrah pilgrims and minimize the risk of infectious disease outbreaks. Officials have confirmed that individuals vaccinated against meningitis within the last five years do not require an additional dose, as the vaccine remains effective.
To streamline the process, the ministry has encouraged pilgrims to book their vaccination appointments through the Sehhaty mobile app, ensuring easy access to immunization services at designated adult vaccination clinics. By implementing these preventive measures, Saudi Arabia aims to provide a safe and secure environment for all pilgrims undertaking their spiritual journey.
