UAE sends humanitarian aid planes to Zambia and Guinea Conakry as natural disasters threaten people

 


UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has directed the dispatch of urgent relief supplies to Zambia and Guinea Conakry as both countries face serious natural disasters. People in both nations need immediate humanitarian aid to face challenges.

Zambia is facing a tough situation due to a long period of drought. The relief aid sent by the UAE is expected to help alleviate people's suffering and meet local food needs. Guinea Conakry, on the other hand, is navigating a serious flooding issue.

HE Sultan al-Shamsi, assistant minister of foreign affairs for development and international organisations affairs and member of the international humanitarian affairs council, highlighted the solid humanitarian legacy of the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan.

Natural disasters such as the aforementioned drought and flooding are becoming more frequent and intense as climate change persists. It has never been this urgent to focus on climate finance in order to help vulnerable countries better tackle climate challenges.
