UAE President and China’s Premier of State Council hold meticulous discussions on bilateral relations
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed HE Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of China, along with his high-level delegation on Thursday. His Highness expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen the longstanding UAE-China bilateral relations. The Chinese Premier’s visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
In detailed discussions, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Premier Li Qiang explored various avenues of cooperation, focusing on enhancing and expanding their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Premier Li conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping, to which Sheikh Mohamed extended his own greetings and congratulations on the upcoming anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Both leaders reviewed the progress of their bilateral cooperation, particularly in key sectors such as economy, trade, investment, clean energy, sustainability, industry, education, and culture. These areas remain central to the development strategies of both nations.
As they marked the 40th anniversary of UAE-China diplomatic relations, Sheikh Mohamed and Premier Li commended the close partnership that has developed over the years. The UAE President reaffirmed his country’s commitment to being a strategic partner in China’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative, highlighting both nations' shared goal of fostering sustainable development and prosperity.
In addition to strengthening bilateral ties, the two leaders discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern, emphasizing the importance of promoting peace, stability, and conflict resolution through peaceful means. They also addressed the ongoing situation in the Middle East, particularly the efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, protect civilians, ensure safe and sustainable humanitarian aid, and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
