The UAE has expressed serious concerns over Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and the ongoing escalation, warning of its impact on regional security and stability. In a statement, the Emirati foreign ministry emphasized the need to fully protect civilians and called for diplomatic solutions to the conflict, rejecting violence and escalation.
On September 25, the UAE, along with the US, Canada, France, Germany, and other allies, issued a joint statement addressing the worsening humanitarian situation along the Lebanon-Israel border, exacerbated by the year-long Israel-Hamas conflict. The statement warned of the risk of further regional escalation, which benefits neither Israel nor Lebanon.
The joint statement urged an immediate 21-day ceasefire along the border to create space for diplomacy, referencing UNSCR 1701 and 2735, which concern a Gaza ceasefire. The allies called on all parties, including the governments of Lebanon and Israel, to support the temporary truce and give diplomacy a real chance, as civilian casualties continue to rise.
