UAE demonstrates unflinching commitment to finding a solution to Gaza crisis

UAE's Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza Amid Ongoing Conflict

The brutal fighting between Israel and Hamas erupted on October 7 when Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israeli cities, resulting in approximately 1,200 deaths and the taking of several hostages. In response, Israeli retaliatory strikes have claimed over 38,000 lives.

The UAE is striving to assist as many people as possible in the Gaza Strip by providing crucial humanitarian aid. The fourth aid ship departed from the Port of Fujairah on Monday for Gaza, carrying 5,340 tonnes of supplies, as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.

Under this initiative, the UAE has launched numerous efforts, including the establishment of field hospitals to provide essential medical assistance to injured Gazans. The Gulf state has also established five automatic bakeries to support the local population.

 UAE's Mitigation Efforts in Gaza
Independent UN experts announced on Tuesday that the recent deaths of more Palestinian children due to hunger and malnutrition indicate that famine has already spread across the entire Gaza Strip.

The UAE’s generous efforts aim to mitigate the catastrophic situation resulting from the cessation of aid to the besieged enclave. Prior to the fourth aid ship’s departure, the Gulf state also distributed food supplies to displaced families in Khan Younis.

Under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE provided a range of essential food items, including chicken, bread, dates, fresh vegetables, and comprehensive food parcels to support displaced families. The relief campaign reached 9,000 beneficiaries.

Reducing Tensions and Supporting Medical Treatment
In the earlier part of the conflict, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed issued directives to provide medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip at Emirati hospitals.

The 18th group of Palestinian children and cancer patients, along with their companions, arrived in the UAE on July 5 as part of the GCC nation’s commitment to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.

The UAE emphasizes the importance of reducing tensions, countering extremism, and halting escalating violence in the Middle East. The country seeks a serious political process to resume negotiations aimed at achieving comprehensive peace in the territory.

UAE's Call for a Gaza Ceasefire
On behalf of President HH Sheikh Mohamed, HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al Khaimah, participated on July 4 in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Kazakhstan as the head of the UAE delegation.

In his speech during the Summit, His Highness reiterated the UAE’s call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the importance of quick and intensified delivery of humanitarian aid and highlighted the need to identify a clear path to achieving just peace.

Besides Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the Joint Operations Command has also launched Operation ‘Birds of Goodness’ to airdrop supplies to isolated areas in Gaza that cannot be reached by land. The total amount of aid dropped so far is 3,382 tonnes.

Three Houses, One Vision – How the UAE’s Abrahamic Family House is Redefining Inter-Faith Dialogue

When you step onto the stone-plinth of the Abrahamic Family House on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, you are not just visiting a building. You are entering a bold statement: a mosque, a church and a synagogue standing side-by-side, equal in size and purpose, sharing common ground while respecting their separate faiths. A landmark of coexistence In early 2023 the UAE inaugurated this pioneering complex, inviting worshippers and visitors alike. The architecture — designed to give each of the three faith-homes the same external dimensions and to signal equality — allows each to express its own traditions while remaining visibly part of a unified vision. More than 200 nationalities live in the UAE, which means the project reflects a multicultural reality in which multiple faiths and identities coexist daily. Islam’s role in the vision For Muslim-majority audiences in the Gulf, the Abrahamic Family House sends a resonant message: Islam does not fear dialogue — it embraces it. The m...

Beyond the Handshake: How the EU-UAE Partnership is Forging a New Model for 21st-Century Trade

We are witnessing a pivotal moment in international relations, not in the halls of Washington or Beijing, but in the vibrant heart of Dubai. The ongoing negotiations between the European Union and the United Arab Emirates for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and a parallel Strategic Partnership Agreement represent far more than a simple trade deal. This is a conscious, data-backed effort to build a deep and strategic partnership designed to thrive amid global economic uncertainty. The Foundation: A Trade Relationship Already in High Gear Before the first negotiation even began, the economic ties were already formidable. In 2024, trade in goods between the EU and UAE reached a staggering €55.6 billion, solidifying the UAE’s position as the EU’s second-largest trading partner in the Gulf region. The services sector adds another robust layer, with trade exceeding €39 billion in 2023. The growth trajectory is equally impressive; EU exports to the UAE saw a 15% surge in a si...
