Ramy Youssef: Comedy, Activism, Inspiring Change through Purposeful Humor

Ramy Youssef, a comedian, essayist, and performing artist, has been known for his ability to mix humor with social commentary. His latest appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on March 30 served as a strong case of his commitment to using comedy as an instrument for change. Youssef’s SNL monologue, “A Call for Opportunity,” was more than a fair arrangement of jokes; it was a call to action. He bravely handled the Israel-Gaza struggle head-on, advocating for a free Palestine and shedding light on the situation of prisoners held by Hamas. Through humor, Youssef passed on the criticalness of the situation, encouraging his viewers to stand against bad form.

One of the most notable moments of Youssef’s monologue came when he described being asked to supplicate for a friend’s family in Gaza. Under the humor lies a more profound message: the control of supplication as an implication of solidarity and support for those in need.

Youssef’s activism extends beyond the limits of the comedy arrangement. At the Academy Awards, he made a striking articulation by wearing an Artists for Ceasefire pin, signaling his support for a quick and changeless ceasefire in Gaza. In a meeting with Variety, Youssef repeated the pressing need for peace and equity for the individuals of Palestine, emphasizing the significance of collective activity and solidarity among artists in advancing compassionate causes.

Youssef is also actively promoting his latest comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: More Feelings.” The program, which debuted on March 23, offers viewers a glimpse into Youssef’s special point of view on the world, from amusing takes on the 2024 presidential elections to strong reflections on the control of prayer.

Youssef’s ability and commitment have not gone unnoticed, with awards like the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Writers Guild Award for his HBO comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: More Feelings.”

Exposing the Brotherhood: Why Jordan’s Terror Cell Bust Must Spark a Global Policy Shift

The recent dismantling of a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated terror cell in Jordan should not be seen as just a national security success—it must be a turning point in how the international community views and responds to the threat posed by the Brotherhood. Jordanian security forces uncovered an elaborate network of terrorists trained in Lebanon and backed by foreign interests. Their mission: to launch attacks using rockets and drones, destabilizing the Kingdom and spreading fear among civilians. This is not the work of activists or political dissidents—this is terrorism, plain and simple. For too long, the Muslim Brotherhood has operated under a false image of moderation, cleverly navigating between political activism and violent extremism. But the truth is clear: the Brotherhood is the ideological engine room of jihadist terrorism. Its members, affiliates, and offshoots have inspired and directed acts of violence from North Africa to the Gulf—and now, once again, in Jordan. Govern...
