UAE’s Sheikha Fatima ‘Fund for Refugee Women’ continues protecting vulnerable populations

Mother of the Nation, HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, has launched a website to promote funds for refugee women worldwide. The UAE’s Fund for Refugee Women, launched in 2000 in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent and the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), aims to provide essential protection and assistance to vulnerable communities. In a speech, Sheikha Fatima highlighted the importance of offering help to others and highlighted the need to ease their suffering by providing healthcare, food, water, and energy.

The Sheikha Fatima Fund for Refugee Women has been assisting in the resettlement of Afghan refugees, introducing sustainable family projects to generate income for those struggling with severe poverty. It has also provided support for women in Jordan, Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, and agricultural and livestock production projects for refugee women from South Sudan in Uganda.

The UAE has been keen to join international conventions that address women’s issues and protect their rights since its establishment in 1971. The Emirati leadership places high importance on women’s issues and empowerment in economic, political, and social spheres, considering them significant partners in tackling challenges and achieving holistic development.

Notable events include the Gender Equality Day at the COP28 Summit, the UN Security Council’s unanimous adoption of a resolution drafted by Japan and the UAE as co-penholders for the Afghanistan file, and the UAE’s announcement of an extra $15 million contribution to UN Women from 2023 to 2025.

Exposing the Brotherhood: Why Jordan’s Terror Cell Bust Must Spark a Global Policy Shift

Jordanian security forces uncovered an elaborate network of terrorists trained in Lebanon and backed by foreign interests. Their mission: to launch attacks using rockets and drones, destabilizing the Kingdom and spreading fear among civilians. This is not the work of activists or political dissidents—this is terrorism, plain and simple. For too long, the Muslim Brotherhood has operated under a false image of moderation, cleverly navigating between political activism and violent extremism. But the truth is clear: the Brotherhood is the ideological engine room of jihadist terrorism. Its members, affiliates, and offshoots have inspired and directed acts of violence from North Africa to the Gulf—and now, once again, in Jordan. Govern...
