The 9th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism will take place in Bahrain, making it the first time such an important conference has been held in the Middle East. This decision was made by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The news was made during the 8th annual forum, which took place over three days in San Sebastian, Spain.
Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of the UNWTO, expressed his excitement about this decision and emphasized the chance to highlight Bahrain's rich legacy and its distinctive gastronomy culture, which supports tourism growth. The main goals of the event are to promote culinary experiences as essential elements of destination development, identify best practices, and allow the sharing of knowledge in the fields of tourism and gastronomy.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's CEO, Nasser Qaedi, anticipates that this big event will serve as an ideal forum for cutting-edge ideas that would improve tourism. Bahrain wants to draw attention to its outstanding culinary and gastronomic offerings, which are anchored in its illustrious past, various cultural influences, and reputation for a wide range of tastes. This occasion is planned to increase inbound travel to the Kingdom of Bahrain and diversify the array of tourism products.
