Nadine Labaki Joins Esteemed Jury at Toronto International Film Festival and Venice Film Festival




Renowned Lebanese actress, director, and activist Nadine Labaki has taken her place on the jury at the highly acclaimed Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), a prestigious event that celebrates the art of cinema. Labaki, who gained prominence with her debut film "Caramel," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, will share the jury responsibilities with esteemed filmmakers Barry Jenkins and Anthony Shim. This year's TIFF, spanning from September 7 to 17, promises to showcase remarkable films from around the world, with Labaki contributing her discerning eye as part of the TIFF Platform jury, set to honor visionary directors.

In addition to her involvement at TIFF, Nadine Labaki has also been appointed as a jury member for the upcoming Venice International Film Festival. She joins an esteemed group of industry luminaries, including Elsa Zylberstein, Yalitza Aparicio, Misan Sagay, and Stefano Savona. The Venice Film Festival, scheduled from August 30 to September 9 in Venice, Italy, will see this exceptional panel of jurors evaluate a diverse selection of films in collaboration with La Biennale di Venezia, under the direction of Alberto Barbera.
